P2M has designed its hybrid system by combining an electric motor with the diesel engine: this philosophy provides the Pilot with high levels of efficiency and quietness: not only extra power during the take-off phase, but also optimum consumption management in cruise phase and above all “backup” engine in the event of an engine flameout.

The safety factor paramount importance for aviation. In fact, if the combustion engine fails, the pilot could easily fly and reach the nearest airport using the electric motor. A situation that in the pilot community could increase the demand for the mixed system proposed by P2M.
